1. How have you modeled and explored new opportunities for learning during your practicum?  I have been in contact with several teachers in the district to better assess how I can be of service to the district. I have observed teachers give Google Suites training and have also observed campuses where the Technology Liaison is in need of direct training due to time constraints. State mandated preparation testing takes precedence at this time of year and so many teachers have not signed up to learn Google Suites or Classroom. I have taken a poll and notice most teachers do not know how to log in to their Google accounts and am working closely with the Innovation and Development Department to help support Pasadena teachers get up to speed with how to navigate through Google Suites and eventually Classroom. Couros frequently mentions how we need to find how technology enhances learning (Couros, 2015, p.140-145). With that in mind, I will continue to brainstorm how I can present a Google Training that helps prepare students for STAAR testing. I already know teachers have this at the fore front of their minds and will use STAAR testing as an excuse to why they can't learn a new tool at this time of year.
  2. Provide an example of ways in which you provide informational learning, exploration, and "play" with new technologies in your practicum. I have taken inventory on how technology is presented to students at Moore Elementary. The Technology Applications teacher has been slowly and creatively presenting Google Suites to teachers and students through non assessment assignments. She is building trust and analyzing ways she can implement Google Suites in the classroom. I see Mrs. Analis launching Google Suites, then asking what is best for each particular learner. Pasadena ISD first needs to get on board with the basic technology apps to get the best out of  Couros (2015) four questions the IT department and awareness we should all be asking such as: What is best for kids? How does this improve learning? If we were to do___, what is the balance of risk vs. reward? Is this serving the few or the majority? (p. 148-149).

  1. How are you moving from standardization to personalization within your educational setting? I have paid close attention to the specific needs of the overall elementary schools in Pasadena ISD. I have started to create informal Google Suite and Classroom training videos on procedures I see are needed most. These videos will soon be shared with technology liaisons and will be adjusted according to the feedback I receive.
